Pioneers Announce #BeKind Awards At Open House

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City school officials recognized students participating in the #BeKind movement during an open house at the newly remodeled central office building. The Pioneer choir group Expressions sang prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony for the central office, which was led by Superintendent Jeff Edwards. Be Kind awards were announced for poetry contest winners in the high school, including Expressions member Lilly Frields. Mayor Bryan Bequette read a proclamation that recognized how #BeKind could have made a difference for the son of Mark and Joni Adler. The former Nebraska City couple began the movement. High school poetry winners include Izzy Esser, Mya Bartman, Tara Maddox and Esmee Suk. Middle school students created poster to reflect the cause.     Other poetry winners Ninth Grade – Audrey Hafner, Katie Shores 10th Grade – Makenna Stutheit, Lilly Frields 11th Grade –  Gabby Buetzer-Delgado, Madison Reim 12th Grade – Nick Burns, Jaielgn Hansen and Cade Gerdes.
