NCN Video Exclusive: Charges Dropped,Trooper Wants Job Back
Tim Flick

Omaha, NE.—Following an exclusive News Channel Nebraska investigation of the Nebraska State Patrol, Trooper Tim Flick and several high ranking members of the agency lost their jobs.

Now Flick wants his job back.

In an unexpected last minute move this week, criminal charges against Flick were dropped by Special Prosecutor Joe Stecher.

Stecher telling the Omaha World-Herald he was running into “substantial foundation problems.”

In an earlier interview with News Channel Nebraska Stecher said the year-and-a-half old case was, among other things, up against the statute of limitations on the misdemeanors leveled against Flick.

As News Channel Nebraska first reported Flick’s case involved a deadly high speed chase and crash that turned into charges of a cover-up within the state’s top law enforcement agency.

Flick’s attorney has issued a statement saying it is Flick’s “desire to return to uniform and continue his service as soon as possible.”

A patrol spokesman tells the World-Herald the patrol stands by its disciplinary decisions in the case.

That would appear to include Flick’s firing.
