GORDON -  A mountain lion has been shot and killed by authorities in Northwest Nebraska. A Gordon police officer killed the animal inside city limits early Monday night after being trapped by a resident. A home security camera captured images of the big cat over the weekend. Sheridan County Attorney Jamian Simmons says a resident called police just before 6:00 p.m. after coming home to find the animal in his yard. He was able to corner the cat until police officers arrived. Officials shot the lion. The lion is described as a male, 60-70 pounds, and about a year to 18-months old. The carcass was taken by Game and Parks.
