Man arrested after threatening to shoot bakery employee

LINCOLN, NE (News Channel Nebraska) – A man threatened a bakery employee moments before trying to steal a bag of bread from the store.

Lincoln Police say officers were sent to a bakery near 11th and G streets in Lincoln on a report of a robbery around 8 in the morning.

The employee reported 38-year-old Jesse Wade ordered bread from the bakery and claimed he had already paid for it.

Police say Wade tried to pay with fake money before dropping the bread and demanding the money back.

Witnesses told police Wade claimed he had a gun and threatened to shoot the employee if he didn’t get more bread.

Wade then left the store and was arrested robbery and received a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
