Lincoln Police Tase Robbery Suspect During Pursuit

LINCOLN - A Lincoln man is in jail following a robbery and run-in with police. Lincoln police say the man robbed the Kwik Shop near 27th and W around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday. The clerk says a man entered the store as she was stocking cigarettes with her back to the door. As she turned around, she noticed the man digging into his pants, for what she believed to be a weapon. The suspect grabbed cigarettes and alcohol from the business before running off. Police officers responding to the robbery spotted the suspect near 28th and Apple. A brief chase ultimately led to the officer using his taser. Police were able to take the suspect into custody not far from where the chase started. Because officers used a taser, paramedics took the suspect to the hospital for evaluation. Police recovered stolen property valued at $760. Officers did not find a weapon.
