Krist Confirms: He’s Running for Gov—As a Democrat

Omaha, NE.—If there was any doubt—and there wasn't—State Sen. Bob Krist removed it this morning: He's running for Governor as a Democrat. During a morning news interview with KFAB radio, Krist confirmed News Channel Nebraska's earlier reporting that he will announce the move formally in Lincoln at noon today. Krist had been running as an independent after leaving the Republican Party last year. All these moves finding the Nebraska Republican Party labeling Krist a flip-flopper. Krist telling KFAB that he considers himself a centrist who won't always see eye to eye with his new party: "We're never going to agree on everything but this is the pathway to success. We need better leadership and I think I'm that guy." Krist quickly becomes the front runner for the Democratic nomination. Two other announced candidates, Vanessa Ward and Tyler Davis are new to politics and as News Channel Nebraska has reported Ward’s campaign has been plagued with problems from day one.
