Grand Island Christian School to close in May

GRAND ISLAND, NE (Omaha World-Herald News Source) – A longtime Grand Island school will be closing its doors in May.

Grand Island Christian School announced Tuesday morning that it will be closing effective May 15th after 40 years.

The school offers education to grades preschool through sixth grade. Grand Island Christian currently has just two full-time teachers, one part-time teacher and 13 students.

Administrator Richard Musgrave said dwindling enrollment was the main factor in the decision to cease operations. Since Christmas, Grand Island Christian has seen its enrollment numbers decrease by 7 after 3 families moved.
