Flood causes estimated $2.3 million damage to county roads

GRAND ISLAND, NE (Omaha World-Herald News Source) – It will cost an estimated 2.3 million dollars to repair flood-damaged roads in Hall County.

That is the initial figure sent to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency last week by the county’s highway superintendent.

County officials say no bridges were lost in the flood but many roads experienced major to minor damage.

In all 163 roads in Hall County have been impacted with minor damage and need to be re-graded. Another 17 have major damage to culverts or have to be rebuilt.
