WATERLOO, NE (News Channel Nebraska) – The Elkhorn River is beginning to flood neighborhoods closer to Omaha.
This footage was posted to Twitter this morning by a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper at Highway 275 and 228th Street. That’s just west of the Millard neighborhood of Omaha.
The Elkhorn had achieved a record flood stage at the upstream gauge in Waterloo measuring at 21 and a half feet Friday morning well above the original forecast peak of 19.9.
In addition to Highway 275 water will likely be threatening Highways 36, 30 and 91 in the area.
