Doane Suffers Crushing Upset for First Loss of the Season

SEWARD – A week after their offense put up nearly 600 yards and 68 points, the #7 Doane Tigers offense sputtered for only 234 yards and 10 points in a 29-18 loss to the Concordia Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs hand Doane their first loss of the season and forced four Tiger turnovers in their upset victory. It was the Bulldogs first win over Doane in the last 12 contests.

Cole Wiseman was the bright spot for the Tigers. The senior intercepted three Concordia passes and blocked a field goal. He took one interception for a touchdown on the opening drive of the game.

A week after over 400 yard and four touchdowns passing, Jack Shadley was pressured heavily and finished 14-39 for 153 yards and three interceptions.

Najee Mustafaa had the lone offensive touchdown for Doane.

Andrew Parea bounced back for two second half touchdown passes after throwing three interceptions in the first half for Concordia. The sophomore threw for 152 yards.

Doane drops to 3-1 on the season and will head to Briar Cliff next week.

Concordia is now 2-2 this year. They will host Hastings next Saturday.
