Creighton will seek to host a presidential debate in 2020

OMAHA, NE (Omaha World-Herald News Service) – Omaha’s Creighton University hopes to host a presidential debate in 2020.

University President Reverend Daniel Hendrickson disclosed Creighton’s desire at his Founders Day Convocation speech Tuesday.

Hendrickson says hosting a debate would give students a chance to become involved in the events and professors a chance to create related courses or programs.

A spokesperson for Creighton says Ryan Athletic Center-Sokol Arena would most likely be the location it would offer in its application, which is due April 2.

Omaha last hosted the vice presidential debate at the Civic Auditorium in 1988.
