NEBRASKA CITY – The Legally Prom Committee has raised over $30,000 for Nebraska City organizations during the first three years of the event, including donations to the ballfield concession stand and Safe Ride Shuttle.
Legally Prom originally started as a fundraiser for the Mother’s Undoing Nebraska Childhood Hunger (MUNCH) program in 2015.
When they celebrate their fourth annual event on March 9 at the Nebraska City Eagles Club, they’ll be making donations to six organizations, including MUNCH, Keep Nebraska City Beautiful, the Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce Downtown Summer Movie Series, the Presbyterian Women, and their yearly $1,500 scholarship for high school seniors in Nebraska City.
Committee member Janette Harker announced Wednesday this year’s theme will be based on the movie, “Grease.”
“‘Pink Ladies’, “T-Birds,’ get your jackets out, get your dancing shoes on, and come out and have a good time. The great thing about Legally Prom is that it is a 21-and-older event. You don’t have to dress up to attend. You can come in your blue jeans and t-shirts. You can come however you want too.”
The 2019 event will include a buffet, silent auction, photo booth, a DJ and dance, and the crowning of the prom king and queen.

Tickets will also be available at Bing’s Sports Bar in downtown Nebraska City on Saturday, Jan. 19 during a special promotions night. Attendees will be able to get discounts on drinks if you buy your ticket that night.
