Bomb Threat Stopped in Stratton

A Stratton man has been arrested after the police found an improvised explosive device at his residence while executing a search warrant. The resident, identified as 51-year-old Fredrick Hamilton, was reported to the Nebraska State Patrol after making threats to harm a village of Stratton official. According to investigators one of the threats did include mention of an improvised explosive device. Prompting the search warrant and subsequent investigation. Upon executing the search warrant NSP found the improvised bomb and rendered the device safe. According to NSP, Hamilton was arrested for possession of a destructive device and threatening to use explosives. He is being held in Hitchcock County Jail.
