Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge lit up blue for autism awareness

OMAHA, NE (Eric McKay / News Channel Nebraska) – For the second straight year the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge was lit up blue for autism awareness on Tuesday.

Tuesday was World Autism Awareness Day.

The Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center partnered with Autism Action partnership in the cross-state event. The bridge was lit up blue to kick off World Autism Month.

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and Council Bluffs Mayor Matt Walsh both took part in the event.

The bridge was one of a number of regional, national, and international landmarks lit up on Tuesday…including the Omaha Zoo’s Desert Dome…the Woodmen Tower…and the Hope Tower.
