Blowing Snow Impacting Highway 2 At River Bridge

NEBRASKA CITY – Blowing snow is impacted driving conditions on Highway 2 Thursday morning.

A Werner semi-trailer got stuck in a snow bank near the levee road on the east side of the Missouri River bridge. A westbound lane of the highway was blocked while the truck was pulled out of the snow.

The National Weather Service office in Valley is reporting blowing snow causing slick spots in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa. Use caution if traveling.

The Nebraska City airport reported wind gusts of 36 mph around 9 a.m. and the winter weather advisory for blowing snow is in effect until 6 p.m. today.
