Arbor Day Farm Offers New Thrills On Tree Adventure

Zip Cruise installed days before AppleJack

NEBRASKA CITY – The Tree Adventure at Arbor Day Farm is offering new, daring activities for the 50th annual AppleJack Festival. Austin Mackrill of Arbor Day Farm toured the trail Friday morning with B103 FM’s Hunter Arterburn and first grader Sawyer Drinnin. Right now we are seeing Sawyer on his first ride on the new ‘zip cruise’, which is a 60-foot zip cruise embankment. It’s just going to be a lot of fun for the staff.” The zip cruise was just installed just days prior to the annual Nebraska City festival. Mackrill: “The kids hop on side on a platform and they zip across over the nice soft mulch to the other side, so it’s become a really popular item here. Arterburn: “You just sit on that, stand on it. What do you do? Mackrill: “Just sit on it and go.” Arterburn: “How about that, just zip back and forth. I would get Sawyer’s grade on  this, but he has already took over to the spider web. Mackrill: “ I asked him if it was one thumbs up or two and he gave me two.” Also new to the trail is a 32-foot embankment slide that uses the natural topography. Arterburn also tested his senses in listening to the forest. He said the forest was all about the AppleJack Festival.
