Here’s some news that should make James Brown fans feel good: The Godfather of Soul’s 1988 rarities compilation Motherlode will be reissued as a two-LP vinyl set on March 8. The expanded collection will include three extra tracks that were featured on a 2003 CD re-release of the album but have never appeared on vinyl before.

The bonus cuts are a remixed, full-length version of the 1973 hit “I Got Ants in My Pants (And I Want to Dance),” the 1969 song “You’ve Changed” and an epic, 12-minute alternate mix of the 1976 tune “Bodyheat.”

Among the highlights on Motherlode are a live version of “Say It Loud — I’m Black and I’m Proud,” an outtake from Brown’s 1970 concert album Sex Machine,” and “Since You Been Gone,” a duet with James’ longtime collaborator and early Famous Flames band mate Bobby Byrd.

The vinyl reissue also features an updated version of Motherlode‘s original liner notes, penned by late music journalist Cliff White, who was known for his coverage of the funk/soul legend.

Here’s the track list of the two-LP version of the Motherlode comp:

“There It Is” (Live)
