Heidi and Brian Beaumont of Ansley Lumber and Supply Company decided to paint the town of Ansley in an effort to improve their own Nebraska habitat.

Due to an inventory change in paint-in which Ansley Lumber and Supply switched to Benjamin Moore- they had surplus Pratt and Lambert Exterior Paint. These past few months Heidi and Brian decided to pour the 50 gallons of extra paint back into the community and spruce up some of the Main Street businesses.

With the help of local individuals and businesses, the Beaumonts were able to gather enough volunteers and donations for supplies to paint on evenings and weekends. The junior class and cheerleaders donated their time along with many other community members who rallied around the idea via the Paint Our Town Ansley Facebook page.

Heidi said the town really needed spruced up and felt like she could do something about it. With any change and progress, it can take a while for plans to be received. But it didn’t take long for the people of Ansley to recognize the benefits of a fresh coat of paint.

Ansley Lumber and Supply, a gas station, barber shop, market, diner, the salon were all some business that were painted, along with the library sign. Next time you walk down Main Street you will also see brightly colored benches and some paint drops on the sidewalk, which Heidi says is a sign of progress and improvement.

The Beaumonts have owned the store for just over a year and even though all the extra paint has been used, they said they would like to paint more benches in the future and possibly sell their current paint at a reduced cost to continue downtown enhancement.

Heidi Beaumont says,“The Main Street and your business districts are really the heart of the community and it’s important to keep these preserved and maintained.”
