Fill a bag-help feed families

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive was this past Saturday, May 13. Sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers annually, this is the first year that the Broken Bow Post Office has participated in the event. Food was collected by volunteers and mail carriers to be donated to the local Food Pantry. Over 600 pounds were collected by 11 volunteers that morning with an additional 300 being picked up by mail carriers later in the day. Late drop-offs at the post office brought the total amount of food collected to *951 pounds. Postmaster Pam Young would like to thank everyone who either volunteered or donated and is looking forward to the food drive next year.

*updated, originally published and aired as 944 lbs
