96.3 ribbon cutting and beginning of partnership with News Channel Nebraska

Monday afternoon all of us at KCNI/KBBN cut the ribbon to officially welcome 96.3 FM to the airwaves. This has been a project a year in the making to extend our programming to area listeners. The Chamber of Commerce came out to recognize business growth in our community. Tune in to 96.3 to hear the KCNI programming, also on 1280 AM.

In addition, our station celebrated the beginning of a partnership with Mike Flood of News Channel Nebraska. Mike served in the Nebraska legislature for eight years and has been heavily involved in state-wide broadcasting, with radio and TV stations in many Nebraska communities.

Mike Flood said this about his experience: “I created News Channel Nebraska which is all Nebraska, all the time. We’re now on Great Plains Channel 22 in Broken Bow. I’m taking local content and putting it out to anybody that is interested in it and I’m hoping people will click on it.”

Bobbi LeAnn Walters, an associate of Mike Flood who works with the Columbus News Channel Nebraska Team, will be covering selected junior high, high school, college, and amateur rodeo events.

“We’re excited to team up with KCNI/KBBN with some of the local Broken Bow area rodeo and content news here in Broken Bow. That’s something Good Life Western Sports promotes-is keeping rodeo here in Nebraska alive and to cherish the history and preserve what we have here,” Walters said.

The goal of News Channel Nebraska and KCNI/KBBN’s partnership is to broadcast major events in this area to listeners and viewers across the state.
