Governor Pete Ricketts wil visit Broken Bow Tuesday, February 14th
Governor Pete Ricketts is planning to visit Broken Bow on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 to discuss his legislative priorities and listen to Nebraskans. The Governor invites the public to attend. The Governor's Public Relations Director, Taylor Gage released the schedule this week. Gage said this is a great opportunity to hear an update on how Nebraska is growing, and how the Governor is working with the Legislature on key priorities like balancing the budget this legislative session. This past Wednesday, Governor Ricketts introduced LB337 a proposal to cut income taxes and LB338 to reduced property tax. State Senator Matt Williams for District 36 serves on the Revenue Committee and spoke to KCNI/KBBN News Thursday afternoon. Senator Williams said reaction to the Governor's tax cut proposal was mixed. Williams said he also has mixed feelings concerning the Governor's proposals because District 36 is struggling due to increases in property tax not income tax.
The Governor will be available to address questions about tax issues and other priorities in Nebraska at the Broken Bow Municipal Building from 12:00-1:00 pm Tuesday, February 14th.
Be sure and listen to KCNI/KBBN this Saturday during local news at 7:00 am-Noon-and 5:00 pm for a conversation with Senator Matt Williams about legislative activities at the state capital in Lincoln.
